You can no longer fake casts. Starting any cast triggers a GCD. Stopping the cast does not cancel the GCD triggered.
Filefront link, here.
You can see that when I cancel frostbolt about 3/4 second into the cast, the global cooldown continues to tick on my bars. Pretty interesting. =p

That has to be a bug. Even blizz isn't dumb enough to let that go through.
It's a bug, the only result of this would be lowering the skill cap of the game needlessly.
I HOPE IT STAYS
kind of silly
Not sure how this does much to fake casting at all. You just have to wait an extra ~.5 seconds after blowing their interrupt to cast your next spell. Still better than the 4+ seconds you'd eat from an actual interrupt.
0.5 seconds can be killer...
because you dont have to ever fake-cast 2-3 times till someone bites, right? =(
its a fix for all the bads that gonna roll dks and will have to deal with their 3 interrupts(mind freeze/stangulate/ghoul ability)
Here is the real question: If you are hit with an Imp Counterspell/kick after the self interruption but before the end of the GCD, does it still lock you down?
god i hope its a bug
mage seems pretty booring in wotk and if this is true it's gonna be even more stupid.
think im gonna play my green rogue in wotk and leave my mage.
Gotta be a glitch.
pretty gay
the devs did it for the lulz
That completely ruins things.
this hasn't changed at all, raddy, unless you're saying that you can't activate a new spell while this gcd is ticking.
to be more clear, it's the same with wow right now, when I start a spell it triggers a gcd that makes all my buttons (except for cs, nub!) go gray for 1.5 seconds. however, if I mash a
/stopcasting
/cast wreckafool
macro it'll happen regardless of the apparent gcd. the same is true if I just hit escape and cast another spell while it appears I'm on gcd. the spell goes off regardless of the wow interface saying I'm on global.
ps I like you a lot
