Matt said...: I didn't want to be the first one to say it artanias, but yeah. Guy must've had a brain fart or something, as drawing out the match is never a viable strategy against mages. You're just letting the timers on all their snares and escapes tick down. Minty tried a sap-blind-bandage on me once and that's the only time I ever beat him post-ShS. Anonymous said...: Saying the rogue was bad is a completely ignorant statement, you got to understand this guy was previously undefeated in the tournament. When you see him fight Clazzi he does not get defensive like he did against Minaegi. He's usually not using cooldowns to get away to bandage - he's waiting out the mage's water elemental.

The difference between him fighting Clazzi and him fighting Minaegi is Minaegi was pounding him, hard. Watch their health bars when he jumps Minaegi - you might be surprised. He realized on both occassions he was losing the dps race, and that's how he lost.; June 30, 2008 at 6:38 PM
Matt said...: Minaegi was pounding his face in with the initial volley of instant attacks, and initial absorption of mage shielding, if he had stayed on him it probably would've turned around. I actually didn't say the rogue was bad, but I think that's a fundamental error in the rogue's approach that caused him to lose.; June 30, 2008 at 6:53 PM
Anonymous said...: His freezes were on DR at that point but water elemental was up and blasting away. Minaegi has nigh invulnerability belt, can spellsteal the rogue's (and did on more than one occasion), 1000 spell damage, and pops a trinket to bring that close to 1200, which scales with water elemental damage. I don't think toe to toe the rogue would have survived.

Remember, when he fought Clazzi, he only had 1K health after - and Clazzi has only about 700 spell damage due to spell haste stacking. And Clazzi was almost exclusively spamming arcane explosion while his water elemental was blinded.; June 30, 2008 at 6:58 PM
