I made this point to a few people individually, but here we go:
In 2.4, Spellsteal will not steal buffs of which you currently have a longer duration version.
Against mages, you won't steal their armor, dampen and int. You'll be able to get Barrier, Wards, Arcane Power, etc. No big deal really.
Where it gets interesting is in 3s, particularly mage/lock/druid. With both lock and druid buffs, you'll ignore thorns, mark, underwater breathing, detect invisibility, along with the mage buffs. This really opens up a few things obviously, especially against teams with weak offensive dispel -- war/rogue/druid, war/lock/druid, war/hunter/druid etc.
This change along with the rumored 50% reflection on Frost Ward should change up how RMP mirrors play out as well.
I'm not going to theorycraft too much on stuff that isn't even on PTR -- but even this "junk" spellsteal change has some interesting potential.

To be perfectly fair, the AP mage would be able to steal it right back.
Also, you shouldn't get presence of mind stolen unless you get really unlucky, or are in fact terrible at the game.
Between spell reflects and endless spellstealing between mages, I'll probably never duel another mage again.

We've never dueled though. At least not me on the character. No noggenfogger = not raddy.
I tried to ap + pom so you could steal it and wings with that pally but you got zerged by a million people. =(

Spellsteal will no longer overwrite a longer duration buff.
Exact words. Spellsteal will dispell those buffs you have, you'll just keep the version that's longer.
