Yeah, that title was terrible, holy gay. This is another WoW post, but its a new arena season -- beats losing your v-card...whatever that means.
Some of you may have access to BT gems, I hope your women have dicks. Or, to be PC, your men have tiny dicks. Basically, I wish penii upon your domain.
So basically, I'm thinking Trial Fire with 3x9dmg, Holo-Gogs with Nightseye, S3 everywhere else, all silk, all 9 dmg gems except 1 10resil in your bracers, S3 staff with the hit not pen, S2/S3 rings, crit neck, crit badges cloak, Idol or ZA trinket, and undecided on wand still.
Probably should put you around 9600ish hp, 350ish resil, 1070? damage with full hit and actually respectable crit. For those who want to pretend their warlock and rock stam gems and ice lance people 100-0 while they tank everything with their 12k hp and 450 resil, knock yourself out.
Oh and if you don't give a fuck what I think, you can fucking close your browser when you read my blog. Okay, I'm done, back to paying 60g each for stupid living rubies and emoing out that I have to wait till thursday to start doing any arena. I mean, 2.3.2 is the real season beginning anyways...

I went with dmg/stam gems in red/blue and 8 resil in yellow on my alt. Still need to pick up s3 neck and shoulders but was a huge upgrade. Went from HWL+instance blues to full glad purps. Im disappointed in gladiator rank this season...I log on my rogue and see a new drake in the mail and its the same fucking thing as last season...actually I had to delete my s1 drake so I could grab the identical s2 drake from the mailbox...wtf is that?
wut about meta gem? MSD?
Raddy, you didn't get Glad this season?
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNGG SON
THEM TRIAL FIRES DONE FINISHED THEY TRIAL A LONG TIME AGO
I wonder if 50 fire / 11 frost is gonna be better than 41/20 for arena...think balling out w/ 50 fire is how I'd roll. Get some 3/3 percision w/ imp bolt and imp nova dawg
I bought about 4000 too many living rubies(because I can't do math)when I was preparing for s3
Luckily, I can now sell them fro twice what I paid, chaching
lol my RL name is jeff
THIS SITE IS FILLED WITH SUPERPOWERZ!
I still idolize you raddy, but 350 resil < 10k hp is going to get you rocked beyond belief by rogues, hunters, and the occasional warrior.
Glowing Nightseye red/blue
Mystic Dawnstone yellow
Especially if youre doing 2s with an undergeared shadowstep rogue.... *cough*
This set up is ideal for 5s, but for 2s and 3s, you need a bit more defense than that.
And a lot of people dont even do 5s. So I dont think this set up will be very good for them.
This blog is an embarrassment. Radikal is a horrible player, you ass kissers should stop worshiping him. His only achievement is making a couple of bad videos and managing to suck up to good players and get invited to a good team which carried him. He also pretended to quit, just to come back like the attention whore that he is.
I look forward to see him fall flat on his face in season 3. He will finally be where he belong: 1500-1600 rating bracket.
Meh, gimping my defensive stats that much for offense might be a bit over the top. At first i thought about going all out offensive, but meh...
Playing some 2v2 kinda seriously and talking to a friend whos pretty high rated made me realise ill be gibbed if i gem like that.
sta/dmg and resil gems for me.
I think I'll go with pure damage gems again, with 1 purple 0 yellow to meet the requirements of MSD.
I still think MSD is better overall because it opens up for nice burst opportunities and CSD isn't really getting the benefit you'd want due to diminishing returns on freeze effects, so CSD won't do you much extra with Icy Veins other than harder crits from fast fbolts. (random burst vs controlled burst, but which one outweighs the other?)
For the ring / wand issue it's all a matter of personal preference but I choose extra survivability from ring and the non-penetration wand to get 54 penetration total with a 3,4% miss chance on 70 resist targets (warlocks, palas with frost aura lol?, shamans that have time to switch totems).
Though going with PvE ring and penetration wand you'll get abit more offense to the loss of stats and defense giving you 64 penetration with a 1,3% miss chance against 70 resist targets.
These are my thoughts so far about gearing, but what do you others think?
@magdain: I ran with less than 9.5k hp and about 330 resil last season actually -- I never found it to be an issue. I actually duel rogues/hunters in this gear too without much difficulty, although in full series against prep, I need to switch in a few hundred extra hp. Hunters are truly a big problem in this type of gear I won't lie but weren't prevalent at all last season.
@anonymous: DON'T WORRY MY TEAMMATES ARE BACK TO CARRY ME THIS SEASON LOLOL
I'll probably switch to CSD come 2.3.2, but MSD is still generally "better" imo. I personally don't like how MSD feels wasted when you've got stuff like Veins/Heroism going or it just procs off something dumb and you can't get great use out of it.
I'll make the point now that in s1 the role of a mage on a lot of teams was to attract focus and tank it. Good players did this while putting out good CC and damage was very secondary. In season 2, the various offensive improvements led to break away chain casting potential with huge on demand burst from WE. Run around, tank, burst when you're free. I think s3, and by this I mean 2.3.2, should allow for some pretty different play. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be more of 2345, rmp, WE zzz, but I'm not yet convinced. ^^
"All silk..."
Of course, mate. Ballers won't fart through anything less than Versace.
"For those who want to pretend their warlock and rock stam gems "
*they're
when does 2.3.2 come out?
Perhaps I'm underestimating the offensive power you gain with that setup, since there's a pretty good chance you're going to get focused regardless of gear as a mage.
Good luck, 'cause if it works you might get a world of ming post about how you're an innovator and the savior of mages. And really, what more is there to life..
nah man, rock all spell pen gems and get the spell pen and go around killing felhunters in av all season !!
spell pen staff :() ^^
Hmmm did you mean put crit in the neck s3 piece? pretty obvious i guess, but not to noobs like me! :O
MSD is still great for the opportunities it can create
IM NOT BACK TO CARRY YOU RADI
OR AM I?
LOLOLOL WE'LL SEE SOON
Spell penetration items come last, you can just switch them in if you're in a situation where you next extra pen (screw you warlocks). The rings + cloak enchant covers most of your needs tbh, and subtlety if you have it.
Gems: 6stam/5dmg + 5dmg/4crit in shoulders, 10 resil in neck, 12dmg/msd in head, 6stam/5dmgx3 in chest. I'm droppin a heroic mech 6dmg/5hit gem in the bracers to put me near the spell hit cap since I'm gonna try rockin the spellblade/oh this season. Wish I had a sextent from SSC instead of this icon tbh.
i will if you will alex
you first
ain't gonna happen :<
It seems like it'd be fun to come back and play again...especially w/ a new season. But I'm sure in no time I'd be speccing crazy shit just to try to have fun and spending more time typing in guild chat than actually playing the game.
I MISS YOU SO MUCH IT HURTS WHEN I PEE
what 3s setup are you running raddy? RPM?
Hello, I am a Merciless Gladiator and, therefore, I am a baller.
I vomited in my mouth when I saw 150 hp on chest. Managed to choke it down.
If you want to talk baller gemming/gearing, lets talk baller.
Get rid of that grody ass 150 hp shit. You ain't riff raff, don't enchant your chest piece like you are.
Them gogs is like last year's Armani. Donate that shit to goodwill, get a receipt, and write it off. 21 damage for 37 stamina, 37 resilience, and 235 armor? C'mon. C'mmmmmmmmon.
Trial-Fire Trousers are baller ready. Stamp of approval.
Woah zarth woah
Don't hate on my 150 hp. I don't really enjoy resil as much as most people I dunno...
I would carry you raddy.. ;3
RADDY, GOING PENNY-ARCADE ON YOUR ASS AT INNAPROPRIATE MOMENTS SINCE 1672.
I think Raddy has come to a point that he is dominating too much that he needs to gem/enchant his gear weirdly in order to get any satification out of winning.
I am pretty sure if he tries any 2s, and started get his ass handed to him by mages that "pretend their warlock and rock stam gems and ice lance people 100-0 while they tank everything with their 12k hp and 450 resil". He will probably adapt.
I think for 2s you walk a very fine line as far as gearing out defensively because the double dps teams are usually only as powerful as the spike/healer cc you can create. the frost talents and base stats on pvp gear I think are plenty defense, gemming beyond that by no means necessary, (again not arguing against gearing defensively just saying both have their reasons, personally I like to gear offensively)
